Day Retreat: Time in the Tomb

After the Easter celebrations of a few weeks ago we come together for a day of quiet reflection, considering Jesus’ time in the tomb, after his crucifixion and before his resurrection.  What went on for him during this time?  Does it have any relevance to our own lives?

Can we benefit from a time of quiet, stillness and silence in which we can rest and renew, whilst restoring and rejuvenating ourselves? And can this lead to new perspectives and a different way of being in the world?  Drawing on words from St Matthew’s gospel, we will explore these ideas together in the peaceful space of St James’s church.

We be in silence on two occasions, each lasting over an hour.  During this time you will be invited to sit, walk, write, draw, knit, pray…whatever will bring you closer to God.  Please bring any creative materials you may need with you.
